Engagement season isn’t the time to play small. It’s not the time to tinker with your logo, or redo your workflows, or stress over fonts and colors. It’s your Super Bowl. And yet, every year, I see well-meaning creatives doing exactly that—focusing on backend tasks that don’t actually book clients.

“You’re not booking because you’re hiding. You’re refining your brand, updating your CRM, waiting until your new packages are done. But no, you’re procrastinating.”

I want you to win big this engagement season. And that means knowing what to stop doing—and what to double down on.

So let’s break down the top 5 things you should absolutely NOT be doing this engagement season… and then, I’ll walk you through the 4 high-impact things you should be doing instead.

5 Things to STOP Doing in Your Wedding Business This Engagement Season

1. Don’t Rebrand Right Now

I get it. New year, new vibe, right? Nope—not right now.

“Because it’s the beginning of a new year, so many wedding pros are like, ‘I’m working on my rebrand right now.’ No. Absolutely not.”

Rebranding is a beautiful thing… in the off season. But during engagement season (November through March), you’ve got to keep your eyes on the prize—sales. A rebrand pulls your focus away from visibility and conversion, and honestly? It won’t help you close more contracts this quarter.

Save the rebrand for slow season. Right now, your only job is to get visible and get booked.

2. Don’t Change Your CRM Mid-Season

Switching from HoneyBook to Dubsado or vice versa may feel like progress, but during your peak booking window? It’s a distraction.

“You can do a little bit of research before November. You can implement after March. But you cannot be switching your CRM and all your workflows during engagement season.”

Changing CRMs is like moving houses during the holidays. It’s messy, overwhelming, and unnecessary right now.

Instead, work with what you have—even if it’s not perfect—and optimize your client communication flow.

3. Don’t Rebuild All Your Packages

Repeat after me: Sell what you already have.

“I see this all the time… new pros come in and they’re like, ‘I’m rebuilding all of my packages.’ Why are you doing that right now?”

You don’t need fancy new packages to land bookings—you need clarity, confidence, and availability. Save the package revamp for later and just sell the dang thing.

4. Don’t Hold Off on Releasing Future Dates & Pricing

This is a BIG one. And honestly, one of the most common mistakes I see.

“So many couples get engaged and want a spring 2027 wedding. And you’re like, ‘No, come back in a few months.’ What?! Absolutely not.”

If your calendar stops at 2026, you’re leaving money on the table. I want you to be ready to book those 2027 dates. Have your pricing figured out—now—so you can confidently send quotes and contracts without hesitation.

5. Don’t Go Dark on Social

Y’all. Visibility is everything this season.

“When you’re working on something really big behind the scenes—like a rebrand—you’re actually fairly dark on social media. And this is the time when you need to be going all in, not pulling away.”

If you disappear from Instagram, your dream clients will find someone else. Period. This is the time to be relentless with your marketing. Let them see your face, hear your voice, and know you’re open for business.

4 Things You Should Be Doing During Engagement Season

1. Get Your Pricing Locked In

“We want it locked and loaded—not changing at all during engagement season.”

Run the numbers. Build pricing guides for 2026 and 2027. Make sure your packages are profitable, and get that investment guide cleaned up so it’s ready to send in seconds.

Pro Tip: Keep your pricing easy to understand and easy to deliver. No one wants to wait three days for a quote.

2. Tighten Your Sales Funnel

Let me be blunt: your sales funnel should be a well-oiled machine. Every touchpoint should be seamless—from inquiry to follow-up to signed contract.

“Make sure your sales funnel is airtight. You’ve plugged the holes, you’ve tightened your follow-up, and your contracts are ready to send at a moment’s notice.”

3. Be Everywhere. Seriously.

It’s not enough to just show up once or twice a week. You need to be unavoidable.

“Reels, blog posts, newsletters, vendor collabs… you’re literally everywhere.”

Adopt the mindset: prepare to be sick of me. Show up in DMs, on Google, in inboxes, on TikTok, and beyond. The goal is to keep your brand top-of-mind when couples are ready to book.

4. Make It Easy to Say Yes

Don’t make couples jump through hoops. If someone wants to book you, your inbox and calendar should be wide open.

“You’re easy to buy from, you’re fast to respond, and you’re ready to close.”

This is not the time to be unavailable or bogged down in admin work. Be responsive. Be clear. And for heaven’s sake, have that contract template ready to roll.

Remember This…

Engagement season is not the time to get organized or to “clean up your business.”

“Stop thinking of quarter four as your cleanup time… Think of it as your Olympic trial, your Super Bowl, your high-stake sales sprint.”

The wedding pros who crush engagement season aren’t the ones with the cutest branding—they’re the ones who show up, stay visible, and convert.

This is your moment, CEO. So let’s get to work.

Before We Go…

If you’re tired of feeling like engagement season just passes you by, it’s time to stop hiding behind the scenes and start showing up like the CEO you are.

✔ Get visible

✔ Stay consistent

✔ Make it easy for clients to say YES

Because the truth is… you don’t need prettier packages—you need more signed contracts.

Let’s get after it.

Typically, it runs from Thanksgiving through early March. Over 40% of engagements happen during this time, so it’s your biggest booking window of the year.

Make it ready—now. Get your packages dialed in before November, so you’re not scrambling mid-season.

Aim for visibility daily. Use a mix of reels, carousel posts, Stories, blog links, and email campaigns to stay front and center.
